Turning 20

This year would be the first time that I celebrated my birthday far far away from my family. It has been 20 years since I was born in this world. TWENTY huh? Such a big number and it is a new change since it start with the number 2. Sound like an adult already but I know I'm not prepared yet.

Nothing special this year since we are having our study week for the professional exam that day. Ergh, the perks of having your birthday during the study week. Quite a normal day actually and alhamdulillah no surprises at all. I was quite scared when the clock strikes 12 at midnight. Afraid that they will ask me to do something something but I just had a normal peaceful birthday wishes from my friends and ended up sleeping alone in the room at that night. T_T

What do I feel after turning 20? Hmmm, at that time since I was piled up with the lecture notes, I don't really feel anything but right now I know I need to make a vision. As I said in my previous previous post, I need to picture myself in 10 years time. What will I become, what will I achieve either in the work life and also my personal life. Something that I realized in Kelantan is that I am the type of person who can't live without early plan or else my life will be kind of meaningless in such a way that I'll just go with the flow and at the end of the day I will not know what have I learnt or achieved from what I have went through. So let us put on our thinking cap!

Study Week #3

This thing does not really happen during the study week. It was during the weekend when we have only 2 papers left which is MCQ. There was a carnival organized by TV9 in Masjid Kubang Kerian which is only walking distance from USM. To be honest, everywhere is walking distance since we have a very healthy lifestyle here that we walked everywhere except for place such as KB Mall or the airport. Giler?

Anyway, there was a talk by Prof Muhaya and we planned to go to the pillow talk session as it sound more private and thought that we'll be closer to her. However, I don't know how I totally forgot about the carnival the night before. I slept in the surau and woke up during Subuh just to continue my sleep in the room. Naem woke me up around 7 and asked me whether I wanna go and I just answered we'll go later. In reality, I didn't understand what she was talking about and all I wanted to do at that time was to continue my sleep.

I didn't remember what time we finally start walking. Off we went with Tasnim feeling so excited to meet Prof Muhaya. I brought a book written by Prof Muhaya so that I can ask for her signature. We were late as expected. We joined the "Tanyalah Ustazah" programme but since there were so many people, they still haven't start recording by the time we arrived. We got the backseats. Served us right. Eventhough Prof Muhaya seemed so small from our view but alhamdulillah the audio is clear and loud enough. Still, in the end I did not manage to get her signature as there were so many people.

Study Week #2

During the second week of study week, I started studying full time in surau. Since the surau is only few steps away from my room so there is not much difference anyway. There are few other people studying in the surau with me as well and what I want to highlight in this post is this unique rempeyek Ainul gave me. I am not a big fan of rempeyek but I do love eating one. Why am I talking like this right now? Okay, so the last time I ate rempeyek was the one given by my BM teacher. She is such a dear teacher and I miss her so. I did not have the chance to take picture of the rempeyek she gave us which is unique as well because it is made mainly of groundnuts that you can't see any part of the flour. Getting back to Ainul's rempeyek, it is so cute and tasty as well! Dear Ainul who I know won't be reading this entry, I love the rempeyek so much so please ask Ummi to bring more rempeyek next time okay =)

Study Week #1

I got a message during the study week from my housemate in Palam saying that she is in HUSM taking care of her aunt who has just gave birth. I promised to meet her the day after because there is no way I will miss the chance of meeting my housemate who I rarely meet and this chance doesn't come often. Being far away in Kelantan, I can't join all those reunion and meet my dearest Palam friends. Pity me because whenever I went back to KL then all of them will already be in their hometown.

However, since it is study week so we just meet up for a short while before I went to the anatomy museum. Not many stories to be shared as time is being very jealous of us. *direct BM translation*

No matter how short the time we met but taking a picture is a must. Well, actually my main objective is to make my roommate jealous. Hahahaha but I don't think I achieved my objective. =_=

Pinky Girl?

I was so in love with the colour of pink when I was a little kid. Normal girls. And as I grew up, I don't really wear pink anymore not because I dislike the colour but I just feel that purple is prettier than pink. But right now as you can see, my new layout for this blog is pink. I don't know why I choose pink and I don't know since when have I become this pinky girl again. Even the cover of my Blackberry and Note are also both HOT PINK in colour.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with this colour but I can't help wondering why.

Awesome Randomness #1

2 months of holiday. So I have lots and lots of free time that sometimes my mind will be wondering about random things that I have never thought about before. For example, when my mum was finding a parking space when we went to the night market yesterday I suddenly thought of how my life has changed since I started my degree. I am not talking bout my whole life has changed, there are still things that stay the same as before but what I meant is that starting a new phase of your life and being far far away from family at the same time really taught me a lot.

You have to be strong. You really have to especially when you join medschool. "Nobody said it was easy. No one ever said that it would be so hard." quoted from a song. Hey, that never work for us. Everyone has been talking about how hard medschool is but let us face the truth, all other courses will be saying the same thing about their course as well and believe me, all this hard work will be paid off one day.

Besides that, you must be really good in balancing your cocurriculum activities and your academic. Being a USM students, you must collect merits to ensure that you'll get Desa for next sidang and being a medical student don't guarantee that you'll get one. So you gotta do what you got to do but ALWAYS PRIORITIZE YOUR STUDIES.

I don't know whether all degree students are facing this but I found that I can't no longer apply the way I use to study during school days and foundation right now. We must be very active right now. So many things to cover yet the time is so little that procrastination is like commiting suicide. Okay, I exaggerate on that part but seriously if you put lots of note in your on-hold list, you'll be vomitting once you finish it all. Exaggerating again. You must study smart and study hard. Both at the same time!

Another one thing I learnt is that all of us have our ups and downs. Eventhough all of us are taking medic, it doesn't mean that everyone is smarty pants here. There are some topics that may be hard to understand so do not keep it to yourself and also do not be so proud of yourself. Taking medic doesn't mean that you are already on top of the world. The journey has just only begun. There are lots of other obstacles that you have to go through. Share your difficulties with your friends. The one you trust with. Don't keep everything to yourself. You can also tell Him. Allah Maha Mendengar. He is always there for you to pour your heart out.

Ramadhan Kareem #1

Indeed Allah is the best planner. I don't know why but I am so thankful that the my holiday starts on Ramadhan. Going to terawih in the mosque at night, hearing to the tazkirah made me feel like I am still in Kelantan. This heart feel so empty and my emotion and spiritual strength becomes very weak after coming back from Kelantan. Alhamdulillah, this blessed month is one of the factors that help me to recover and regain my strength. InsyaAllah I will give my all out, the best that I can in this second chance. I could not bear seeing my parents cried because of me.

Something that I wrote in SKB's blog but really soothes me when I read it again,

Bila Allah cepat makbulkan doamu, maka Dia menyayangimu,
Bila Dia lambat makbulkan doamu, maka Dia ingin mengujimu,

Take Note

Allah's answer is better than your prayers.

Malthum De Pafo

This is some of the pictures during our batch dinner before Professional 1 study week. I could not remember when was the exact date. The theme for this dinner is Masquerade and this dinner would be the first ever dinner that I was not eager to think about what clothes to wear, what shoes to wear or those things girls always thought of before this kind of event. I was just panic looking around for the mask and alhamdulillah my sister found just the perfect one for me to match with my outfit. It was totally unplanned.

To Infinity and Beyond

I have promised myself before that after PRO 1 results will be announced I want to sit back and plan my future for 10 years to come. Since the recovering is period has ended now let us look ahead. As quoted from the movie "Meet The Robinson", KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

End of 2012/2013

First year is over. Results for PRO 1 Medic 2012/2013 has been announced on 11th of July 2013. Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah for my result. I wasn't there when they announced the result because I was stuck in the traffic jam. Never thought we would be caught in such a bad traffic at 3 pm. I thought I have prepared myself emotionally and mentally for whatever result that I'll got. I've always prayed to Allah to give the best for me. It may not be good but I know that He knows what is the best for me. However, I can't stop my tears in front of Dr. Liza. The first person I met when I reached USM.

I failed in this exam. Dr. Liza said I was in the borderline list but still the final outcome is that I didn't make it into the list. I did not feel sorry for myself but at that time I was feeling very guilty towards my parents. They have put high hopes on my shoulder and what have I done? I went back home after the results with all my roommates sending me to the airport. Our last moment together. Thank you dear roomies. I've always imagined of what will happen if my name was not announced but laughing out loud in the car with me driving wrecklessly was never in the list.

Note to myself and my dearest sahabat who I loved because of Him,

Don't ask God to make your life easier, but instead ask Him to make you a stronger person.

Thank you for dearest sahabat who stays by my side. It is true that at these times you know who is your real sahabat. Ukhuwah fillah till Jannah insyaAllah. =)

p/s : Personally I think the words from Rakan Masjid sooth me the most.
